What happened to Kiddimoto?

Kiddimoto is a British company known for producing balance bikes and accessories for children. Among many other features, Kiddimoto featured on Dragon's Den in 2011 and got investment from, not one, but two dragons including Duncan Bannatyne. Since this BBC appearance, Kiddimoto has gone onto innovate substantially within the kids bike sector, including collaborations with the likes of Suzuki and World Champion, Marc Marquez.

What products do Kiddimoto sell?

  1. Balance Bikes: These are Kiddimoto's signature products. Balance bikes are essentially small bicycles without pedals, designed to help children learn to balance and steer before transitioning to a traditional pedal bike. Kiddimoto offers balance bikes in various designs and colors, often featuring themes like animals, superheroes, and classic patterns. Their most popular design was their collaboration with World Champion, Marc Marquez, in which Kiddimoto designed a motorbike inspired balance bike around his championship winning bike.

  2. Helmets: Kiddimoto helmets specifically designed for children's safety while riding bikes, scooters, or skateboards. These helmets come in various sizes and designs to suit different age groups and preferences. They prioritize safety features such as adjustable straps, ventilation, and impact-absorbing materials.

  3. Gloves: Kiddimoto's gloves are designed to provide grip and protection for children's hands while riding bikes or other outdoor activities. They come in colorful designs and are made from durable materials for comfort and longevity.

  4. Bells: Kiddimoto offers a range of fun and colorful bells that can be attached to bikes or scooters. These bells add a playful touch to the riding experience and also serve as a safety feature by alerting others of the child's presence.

  5. Backpacks: Kiddimoto manufactures backpacks designed specifically for children, often featuring matching designs to their bikes or helmets. These backpacks are lightweight, durable, and suitable for carrying essentials like snacks, water bottles, and toys.

  6. Accessories: In addition to the above categories, Kiddimoto offers various accessories such as knee and elbow pads, balance bike stands, replacement parts, and customization kits to personalize bikes with stickers or nameplates.

What happened to Kiddimoto?

By now, you might have visited the Kiddimoto website and realised that you're unable to access products. Unfortunately, in May 2023, Kiddimoto Ltd, the company behind Kiddimoto, appointed a liquidator to close the business. There's no explanation into why did Kiddimoto close the business but given the current business climate, with soaring costs, the cost of living crisis and the issues with supply chain, it could be one or several reasons.

Where can I buy Kiddimoto stock?

With Kiddimoto going into liquidation, there's very limited stock available in the market and, unless somebody buys the brand out of liquidation, the stock that is available currently will be the last. Fortunately, liquidation.store has picked up much of the stock and it is being sold at big discounts. So whether you're looking for the legendary Evel Knievel Kids Wooden Balance Bike or simply looking for a bike bell for your kids' safety, they've got it in stock.
